London – Southampton defeated at home although able to excel
in advance. Entertaining Crystal Palace, The Saints defeated by 2-3.
Playing at St Mary's Stadium (24/1), Southampton played with a fast
tempo. The host was superior first through Graziano Pelle goal in nine minutes.
But the visitor immediately reacted, as Marouane Chamakh scored the equalizing
goal two minutes later.
An own goal that made Scott Dann cause Soton back in position ahead 2-1 in the 16th minute. But again, the score did not last long, Yaya Sanogo scored the equalizing goal in the 21st minute and change the position to be 2-2.
Before completion of the first half, one goal was created back. After
falling behind twice, finally Palace managed to turn things around. Chamakh
scored his second goal in the 39th minute.
In the second half Southampton kept banging Palace defense for the sake of scoring at least a goal. But from some of the opportunities that Soton have, the opportunity to equalize no avail. Until the referee blew the final whistle, the scoreboard still showed the numbers 2-3.
